Phu Dong FC officially be promoted to the First Division of national football league in 2018
The 2nd Division 2018 has found the promoted clubs in the upcoming season, that is Phu Dong FC, the capital city’s football club beated Ba Ria Vung Tung at the play-off finale of the 2nd Division League in 2018.
In 15/7 afternoon, the play-off finale of the 2nd Division League continued with the 2nd play-off match between Phu Dong FC and Ba Ria Vung Tau to determine the 2nd promoted club.
Both teams had played considerably, hence the match had been neutral and the ball had been played mostly in the middle of the field. The most remarkable situation of the match belonged to Phu Dong FC when one player hit the ball off the bar of Ba Ria Vung Tau and bounced back.
Drawed 0-0 in both halves of normal time, 2 teams had to take the penalty shootout to find the winner. Better at finishing in intensed penalty shootout time, Phu Dong FC beat Ba Ria Vung Tau with the score of 3-2 and follow An Giang to play in the First Division in 2019.

Phu Dong FC is currently playing in the Second Division and is targeted to be promoted within this year.
