NEW MITSUBISHI XPANDER & XPANDER CROSS OFFICIALLY LAUNCH

September 22, 2025 – Following a milestone of 120,000 units sold in August, which marked 8 years of accompanying Vietnamese customers, the Mitsubishi Xpander has solidified its position as the top-selling MPV in its segment. Building on this success and in a gesture of gratitude for customer trust, Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam is proud to officially introduce the new Xpander and Xpander Cross: “VUOT MONG DOI – VUNG HANH TRINH”. Especially, the new models have a negligible price change. 

The new models boast a more modern exterior with a completely new grille design, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and all-new 17-inch wheels. Inside, the interior offers a premium and spacious experience, equipped with an 8-inch colour LCD meter, a 10-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connection, and a new 3-spoke steering wheel, equipped with 6 airbags and Active Yaw Control (AYC). 

While the new Xpander, with its crossover style, boasts a dynamic and sophisticated exterior, the Xpander Cross presents the image of a powerful and confident SUV. Both models feature upgrades focused on a newly designed grille, new front and rear bumpers, and seamless side skirt around the vehicle. These enhancements are combined with a sharp, newly designed LED daytime running light and the signature Full LED T-Shape lighting system. The all-new 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels have a bespoke design tailored to complement the specific style of each version. 

The new models’ interiors offer a superior level of comfort and convenience. A 10-inch infotainment screen and an 8-inch colour LCD meter, along with a newly designed 3-spoke steering wheel, make control more intuitive and easier. While the new Xpander features an elegant black interior, the Xpander Cross boasts a premium two-tone black and red interior. 

The new versions are equipped with additional side and curtain SRS airbags, bringing the total number to 6 and providing enhanced protection for passengers in the event of a collision. The Active Yaw Control (AYC) system equipped on the Xpander, works with familiar safety features like the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Active Stability Control (ASC) to reinforce stable handling, especially on slippery roads or during sharp turns. 

Additionally, the new models possess the core values customers have come to trust, including smooth, durable, and fuel-efficient performance. The Xpander can easily handle various terrains thanks to its RISE body frame, stable suspension, and excellent visibility, with a class-leading 225mm ground clearance. Furthermore, both new Xpander models meet EURO 5 standards and are compatible with E10 biofuel, ensuring sustainable adaptability and environmental friendliness. 

Exterior: Bold and Refined 

The exterior upgrades on both the new Xpander and Xpander Cross express Mitsubishi Motors’ signature Dynamic Shield design language. Each model has been precisely refined to create its own distinct personality, catering to the diverse needs of customers. 

The new Mitsubishi Xpander is positioned with a “Dynamic & Sophisticated” style. The front end features a Full LED T-Shape lighting system combined with sharp daytime running lights. These are seamlessly connected to a matte chrome detail on the grille, creating a modern and commanding presence. A sporty highlight on the lower body comes from the newly designed bumper, which runs smoothly from front to back and along the side skirts, delivering a dynamic and eye-catching look on any road. The clearer LED fog lights add to the impression when combined with the daytime running light. 

The new two-tone 17-inch alloy wheels feature a multi-spoke design with sharp, elongated spokes that harmonize with the car’s overall look. The rear is highlighted by the distinctive T-Shape taillights, which mirror the front lighting design for easy recognition from any angle. The rear bumper is also refined with character lines that flow seamlessly from the body, while two horizontal reflectors are positioned under the lines, creating a visual accent that reinforces the vehicle’s imposing stance. 

 In contrast, the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross embodies a “Dignified & Powerful” style. In addition to sharp daytime running lights, its trapezoidal grille with a distinct mesh pattern and bold border creates a strong and robust appearance. The SUV style is clearly expressed at the front bumper, which features a wide design and integrated, vertically positioned large protective plates. 

The 17-inch alloy wheels on the Xpander Cross feature an all-new two-tone design with thin, elongated spokes that extend to the rim, making the wheels appear larger and more rugged. The rear maintains its dynamic look with the signature T-shape taillights and sharp character lines extending from the body, providing a strong visual identity from every angle. 

Interior: Sophisticated, Convenient, and Modern 

The interior of the new models has been significantly upgraded to provide a more comfortable and premium driving experience, featuring a spacious and flexible 7-seat interior. 

In the driver’s area, the new 3-spoke steering wheel is equipped with damper rubber material, reducing shaking on rough roads while ensuring a firm and easy grip. The new 8-inch colour LCD meter offers simple and flexible adjustments, allowing the driver to choose between a “Classic” mode that simulates a traditional analog or an “Enhance” mode with more intuitive information. The sharp 10-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto provides a rich entertainment experience for all passengers. 

The central area, with its Horizontal Axis design, creates an open and expansive space, providing maximum comfort and visibility for the driver and passengers in all three rows. Premium features such as the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) and Auto Hold add convenience and a sense of safety to the driving experience. Other practical amenities, including wireless charging, a digital air conditioning system, and smart storage, also contribute to a superior user experience. 

Both the Xpander and Xpander Cross are equipped with premium, easy-to-clean leather seats. The highlight of the Xpander Cross is its two-tone red and black seats with heat-absorbing technology, while the Xpander maintains a classic, sophisticated black interior. 

Stable performance, enhanced safety 

The Xpander and Xpander Cross are powered by a 1.5L MIVEC engine paired with a 4-speed AT transmission, producing 104 hp and 141 Nm of torque. This engine provides durable, flexible, and stable performance across various roads while ensuring optimal fuel efficiency. 

With a class-leading 225mm ground clearance and large approach and departure angles, the Xpander and Xpander Cross can easily navigate obstacles and rough terrain. Additionally, the high eye point gives drivers a wide, commanding view, making it easy to spot traffic situations and obstacles early. 

The new models are equipped with a full suite of practical safety features, including the addition of side and curtain airbags, increasing the total number of airbags to 6 for comprehensive protection in the event of a collision. 

The Active Yaw Control (AYC) system, now equipped on both the Xpander and Xpander Cross, helps to increase safety and stability when driving on slippery roads or taking sharp U-turns. The system actively applies the appropriate braking force to the front wheels, helping the vehicle follow the driver’s intended path for a secure driving experience, especially useful in rainy conditions. 

Other standard safety features include an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Active Stability Control (ASC), Traction Control (TCL), and Hill Start Assist (HSA), ensuring peace of mind and a reliable experience on every journey.
